The president of the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Yoshiro Mori, is fed up with women talking too much at meetings. Of course, this moribund thinking of Yoshiro Mori is equally met by the upper echelons of the political system who don’t want to see a future queen – despite historically this being fine. Hence, Mori is merely highlighting the sham of the “inclusive” Tokyo Olympics. After all, Japan fairs poorly when it comes to many areas of female representation in society.

Mori finds it “annoying” that women dare to speak their minds and ask questions. Thus, he said, “When you increase the number of female executive members, if their speaking time isn’t restricted to a certain extent, they have difficulty finishing, which is annoying,”

Mori said the above after being asked questions about the failure of the Japan Olympic committee in reaching its goal of female members accounting for 40 percent. The Washington Post reports, “Some members of the committee reportedly laughed at Mori’s remarks, which were given in response to a question about the Japan Olympic committee’s goal of having more than 40 percent female members. Only five of 24 members were women as of November.”

The former prime minister of Japan actually highlights cronyism based on his selection. In a condescending tone, he said, “We have about seven women at the organizing committee but everyone understands their place.”

Reuters reports, “The 83-year-old Tokyo 2020 chief was already facing criticism for comments he has made about the Games, amid growing public opposition in Japan to holding the postponed event this summer while the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging.”

Mori merely highlights how out of touch the political elites are. Hence, further embarrassment and negative publicity for the Tokyo Olympics at a time of public opposition to the games based on the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
